Well, the worst thing that could happen has happened. For some reason yesterday afternoon the server decided it did not like the partition it was on and died. Now if that was the only thing that happened we would be in good shape, but the backup system I had in place seemed to have failed and the servers are completely gone. This means I will have to completely rebuild the servers from scratch. I would give a date/time as to when it will be back up but this may take awhile. Hope to see everyone soon.

DocRock has done it again. He has released 2 new maps for HLDM. These maps have been added to both the DocRock server and the DocRock map pack that is available for donload here.

For some reason the AG server was constantly crashing and I could not figure out why. I was recently speaking to DockRock and had brought up the idea of replacing the AG server with one that runs all of his and Baby Kitkat maps. As you all can see the server has been up for a short time now. I have also put together a download of all his maps into one zip. You can download this pack here.

I would also like to take this opportunity to point out that this site is completed administrated by myself. I enjoy helping the Half-Life community, but the community would be nothing without YOU. If you feel you have anything to contribute whether it be news, help, files, or content, by all means use the links on the left side of the site to help out!!

I now have the halloween mapcycle back up for the season. The same maps will be running on both the regular and Severian server.

A lot of things have happened since the last news post. First off I would like to mention that I purchased the domain stu-pidaso.com. What does this mean? For those of you who commonly type stu-pidaso.com, you will now be redirected to stu-pidaso.net (in a rather funny way).

Next news is that I have added 2 more servers for a total of 5...

The Severian mod server has funny sounds on it so expect a fun time while playing there and I may eventually add the sounds to the normal HL server as well.

I have found a collection of weapons that look better than the Hi-Def pack from Valve looks. These models have better textures and higher polygon counts. Whats a polygon? A polygon it what makes up the structures in 3D games. The more polygons, the smoother and more realistic they look. Some models even come with new sounds.

I will be monitoring what models get downloaded the most and will eventually put together a download pack with those all together so all you would have to do is drop it in your valve folder.

Just to let everyone know I am in the process of totally reloading the website to fix a few bugs. When done you should not notice any changes other than it might be a bit quicker. The game server may also be getting an upgrade soon! If this happens I will post the specs for the new server

Forums should be up within the next few days.

I have just started up another server. This server is going to host practice/skill building maps for Half-Life. This is a collection of maps that I have found and also a few that I have made myself. These are not intended to be used for DM but rather to practice using the different weapons available in Half-Life and to learn they can be used for more than just killing.
